Final Project Requirements

Advanced Web Scripting Final Project Requirements

This project is intended to both assess your grasp of fundamental HTML, CSS and Javascript concepts and allow you to explore the tools and capabilities of the latest technologies available to Web designers.

The project should include the following:

1. An information-based Web site with several (roughly 10 pages or 20 paragraphs) of written information.
2. At least three Javascript-based or jQuery-based sliders, carousels, galleries or other dynamic features
3. CSS3-based box model, typographic or visual transformations implemented to support older browsers
4. Typography utilizing an online font library like Typekit or Google Web Fonts
5. Adequate amount of images, a stunning design, strong visual contrast, grid-based and balanced layouts, and harmonious color schemes

As this is an advanced web course, I expect you to use the HTML, CSS and Javascript code to support your vision of an advanced site rather than to fulfill usage of certain types of code. For instance, if you feel that jQuery permits you to implement the site you’d best like to see, then you’re free to use jQuery. If you feel that you want to push the envelope and develop using the latest/greatest features of HTML5 and CSS3, you’re welcome to do so.

Use the code that matches your vision. If you use other people’s code, give them credit for it.

Get inspired by the best sites possible. Here’s a list of 20 to start you off; each uses responsive web design to be suitable for both Web and handheld display:
