Thank you for taking the time to look through my digital portfolio. I am an instructor of Web Design and Interactive Media at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh - Online Division and a doctoral student in Media Studies at the University of Texas at Austin (Radio-Television-Film Department, College of Communications).
Prior to moving to Austin to pursue a Ph.D. in Media Studies, I taught at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh campus from January 2005 to July 2009. During this time, I maintained a diverse and interdisciplinary approach to education and continue to teach subject matter in Web Design and Interactive Media (WDIM), Fundamentals of Media, and Advertising. My areas of instruction include web site design, client-side and server-side web scripting languages, database design, media communications and other subjects. For a complete view of my professional experience, please view my CV.
During my time at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, I enjoyed working with creative students and diverse faculty members as a part of the Web Design and Interactive Media faculty. I continues to teach online courses in Web Design and other related disciplines for AIP Online Division while pursuing my degree.
As an active member of the AIP community, I was the founding faculty advisor of two student organizations, the Improv Comedy Club and the Student Web Designers club. In addition, I actively sought to advance curriculum changes across multiple departments, and I value the opportunity to recommend qualified students for various jobs, internships, and projects.
My education has taken me from Pittsburgh to Austin, TX, and I hope to build upon the degrees I hold from Duquesne University: a M.S. in Multimedia Technology and a B.S. in Health Management Systems.
Prior to my involvement with the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, I managed softwareimplementations as a project engineer for Webmedx, Inc., a provider of medical transcription services to health care organizations across the U.S.
