Course Description from Spring 2013 & Fall 2012
This introductory course focuses on the production and distribution of digital media content. The course familiarizes students with the basic tools and concepts necessary to produce content for new media environments. The overall goal of the class is (1) to give students the opportunity to work and learn with each other while translating their ideas and creativity into digital media content; and (2) to help students develop an awareness of the social institutions that influence the production and distribution of digital media content. Students are introduced to software-based techniques and principles for digital image composition, 2D and 3D static and motion graphics creation, audio and video editing and mixing, and principles of interactive media.
